Arena Point and Honor reset.

Blizz says they're reseting the arena points and BG honor/marks when the expansion comes out. I personally think it's crap. Probably because most all I do on the game anymore is pvp. What is everyones feelings on the subject?

Yeah i stopped running bg's all night long to gear up my s2/kara mage.Instead i specced deep fire and took the advantage to run a couple bosses in bt here and there.Other than that...Aldor exalted omw.

i think having a clean slate come expansion is fine, cuz honestly im not one of those guys who saves up a pile of honor when i dont even need it, when i need an item i grind out enough for whatever items i want then i usually dont touch bgs unless im super bored

You can't use AQ quest items to purchase Sunwell gear, why should it be any different for PvP? Helps put people on a somewhat even footing, though that will only last for about a month or two.

arena points = ok, honor points? that's a pain in the ass. At level 60 you could save your points for the 70 gear. Doesn't affect me though, I wont be grinding honor until xpac anyway >_>

Will this reset be implemented with the 3.0 patch? If not, maybe 3.0 will have something useful to spend all the honor we have on. Kinda like they did with warlord gear pre-bc.

Well i mean look at it realistically...

even if they didn't reset it, they'd simply make items at 80 require a ton of honour... akin to being lvl 30 or 40 and getting hks which amount to very little honour...

either way blizz is going to fuck you over, reset or just make the honour not scale for 80...

There are decent cloaks and a battlemaster trinket 2.0.

It ruins bg pvp for now til expansion because there isn't much point if what you gain will be gone. The amount of bg's has gone down a bit since the announcement.

i think you dont lose the points until you ding 71 so if you're grinding gear for alts for leveling purposes it's still worthwhile.

Well they said their going to make the BG gems BOE and take away the unique equiped restriction. They're also going to add some cloaks, trinket, and maybe a couple other things to buy. Probably going to be a bunch of +12 spell damage gems showing up on the AH. ;)

Actually it would be bad business for them to reset / wipe honor. It would be demoralizing for a player not known to frequent the forums to log in and have no honor.

Their solution was the better option. The notion of an even playing field is somewhat absurd though. This only slightly increases the time before the gap widens between casual and hardcore players.

Even though they aren't wiping honor you won't be able to buy anything because Arena points are still being reset, you'll just sit with 75k honor for a month at 80 before you can even buy stuff/arena.

I think most people who have honor capped right now will be running instances since they don't have to re-grind that honor. Getting the arena points isn't that big of a deal. Getting the arena rating can be a pain on some battlegroups though.

What it really means is they'll be inflating the honor cost of items. Which makes it a wash at best or a longer grind at worst.

SotA makes honor grinding much easier @ 1k+ a game, while item prices seem to have only doubled.

if you can easily get marks for concerted honor and get lucky on free archavon loot, it's much more bearable.

Honor grind is still retarded though.
