Ripped from the Bliz Forums:

Soon we'll be getting much more in-game information in the hands of players as to how many points a kill is worth, in addition to a lot more information on battlegrounds and how they'll tie into the honor system. Naturally, we also plan on addressing the various issues players are experiencing as a result of the system.

Lead designer Kalgan dropped this bit of information in passing that I'm going to pass along to you:

A solo level 60 killing a level 60 enemy: worth approximately 166 points if they're rank 1 (although within a few weeks many level 60s will be rank 3 or higher, in which case the value would be about 190 or more).

A solo level 60 killing a level 48 enemy: worth approximately 20 points.

Obviously, if you were grouped you would get significantly less per kill due to splitting the points.

This is something to consider when planning out your evening PvP excursion...

I like the 5 v 5 groups.

Going out solo in my opinion won't be an advantage because you'll spend more time choosing/looking for targets as opposed to the constant fighting a group usually gets. Most horde don't travel alone, there will be more opportunities for kills as a small group.

I know and I love 5vs5 but i think honor point greedy people will just duel over and over

They'll quite likely have something in place to combat this. I imagine something like DAOC where points scale based upon how recently that character was killed. Hopefully they work it out so that it's fair, since this isn't DAOC, and in DAOC if you died, you had a long run back to the fight or had to get rezzed, and in WOW you just run 30 seconds from the nearest bind point (Hilsbrad), It wouldn't be good for people to zerg rush and the opposing team get no points for killing them... however, I hope and suspect there will be a system so that constant duels cannot be setup to farm points.

Also... I noticed it said that you get 20 points for killing a lvl48 at lvl60... what's the level cap for a "dishonorable kill" now? I wasn't aware it had changed from the old 7 level limit, but a higher limit is much better, as a couple good 48's can easily zerg a lvl60.
