View Full Version : Karazhan cleared!

Repair bills, oh how we missed them. Nightbane put a bit of a dent in our budgets but in the end, he died too. Karazhan cleared. And to wrap up the raiding week, we re-visited an old acquaintance.

To be exact. I got it.
Gratz guys you were the first guild who took him down in the official game.
Although "For the Horde" killed nightbane already in the beta . that was world-first.
For those who are able to understand german take a look at this:

You do realize that the encounter on live is completely different to what it was on beta, right?

not trying to troll but since i didn't participate in beta:
What is the difference in the encounter? And what is the purpose of beta testing when they change the encounter before it goes live?
Bloodshot
01/31/2007, 08:19 AM
The purpose of beta is tuning encounters, a lot of things were changed in between, for instance Netherspite, Nightbane and Gruul. On beta we plowed through Gruul in a PUG, and as a result, he is a bit different on live. :) If he was the same version on live, his head would have rolled on many servers already, and the same is true about Nightbane.

So they are mainly changing amount of HP, dmg-output and so on but not the basic design of the Bosses.
Just to set the needed gear to master it to another level.

Avatar solo'd Patchwerk for the first Beta Kill. Grats to him for the real World First kill...
We can just overlook the fact that he abused a stat bug and had 100% dodge // parry.
Beta never counted, and never will. Again, your attempt at trolling has failed.
Also, take your EU vs US attitude to the US WoW General Boards, I dont think anyone wants to read or see this shit here.

To see if an encounter is too hard or too easy, to see how certain mechanics work out, to see if people can bug a script or find a way around a boss (Gothik 1.0)

Indeed it´s possible although it´s a short time between christmas eve (the day they killed him) and the release of BC on january 16th .
To the point that beta never counts:
The effort of a guild in that stadium can give a hint on there future potency.
I would say it´s even harder because of major problems with the encounter .
FtH had to invest a huge amount of time to get the event even started cause the script was buggy .
In the live version there are no such problems anymore .
And excuse me if i start an argue about this it´s nothing about decreasing ur amount of global reputation but i think it is interesting to know which perspective members from D&T have.

Beta has never, and will never, count towards world progression, just like PTRs don't count.
Stop trying to troll, or atleast, if you're going to, make a better and more entertaining attempt at it. Saying "nuh-uh, someone else got it first on a non-live realm!" is the kind of thing a loser from the special olympics would say.
Keep the US vs Euro bullshit on the wow forums :)

He said he wasn't attempting to troll, just a badly thought out original post, stop being band wagon tards and leave it be.
I have a question though.
As far as each individual's effort is challenged, how would you guys rank Heroic Arcatraz/Mehcanaar let's say, to Karazhan, or the 25 man, Gruul's?
Bloodshot
01/31/2007, 10:25 PM
Heroic Arc/Mech is harder than the first half of Karazhan, and probably slightly easier than the rest. Nightbane is definitely higher in terms of difficulty, and obviously so is gruul since he's still alive. High King Maulgar is easier than Nightbane but it also requires coordination from 25, which is generally harder than coordination from 10 people. Generally speaking the number of guilds beating an encounter is a good measure of difficulty.

Xilrasis
02/01/2007, 01:29 PM
Kaboomzz (Slaven), the site administrator, did the intro for most of the videos I believe. He doesn't play, but still sticks around and does "small" stuff like that. Hard to ask someone that doesn't even play to do a full on editing of a video though ;)

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. As for heroic Arcatraz/Mechanaar, have you guys seen any noteworthy loots in there, that make up for the effort you put into doign them?
