So I beat the game on Medium(I cant yet master the orange fret) and after the pain of the Lou battle, I decided to start working on 5 staring all the songs I only 3 or 4d stard my first go around. Then I decided to actaully play Dragonforce, that song on Medium is like GH2 on fucking Hard. I got 73% my first go around.
Arrgh i can't play GH II hard any further now....Wolfmothers Woman is breaking my head i can't continue unless i get this song.... 32fucking tries and all fail as soon as the Hamer-on pull-off Speed riff comes up

also you can get a ps2--> usb adapter at radioshack or online for $10 and plug into the PC.

im interested in whats gonna happen when GH3 comes out for PC next week. rather than knockoff programs, im sure people will figure out how to play all these custom songs in the actual GH3 pc version, which should make things pretty easy.

Learning the method isn't hard at all. Once you grasp it a bit, everything comes together. You'll be able to do it on slow no problem. Full speed is a pain in the ass to get accustomed too, though. It seems alot faster than it really is, so you tend to tap shit way too quickly and fuck yourself big time.

The intro's the hardest part of the song to get through.. but the rest of the song is still retardedly hard to hold combo in. As soon as I get a camera that records more than 3 minutes, a full vid is comming. I average a little over 650k usually, but 750k + runs aren't that uncommon. The 801k run was once in a blue moon, probably, but hell, anything over 700k is bloody impressive imo.

I'm not avid on scorehero. I do have an account, but I don't really use it much. I use it to get custom charts, and that's it.

finally got around to playing the game solo, since from the day I bought it till like a week ago all we did was beat hard (since that is what most of my friends play) to unlock the songs and then multiplayer.

Over the last few days I have easily beat the first 7 tiers and Cliffs of Dover. Think I can beat Raining Blood and NotB no problem if I put in a few tries. Not sure about One though. That ridiculous red-yellow-blue solo I can't hit. Even with star power I can't hit enough notes to stay alive. Before that is so easy and after that is pretty easy, but that part kills me.

hold down the lowest note of each scale and fret/strum the other notes like a madman. Mind you, I don't get over 60-65% of these notes either, but that's more than enough to stay alive with SP active.

dude ive been wanting this forrrrrever. if youre keepin up to date on the custom progress for GH3, i think just yesterday a guy finally got crossroads to work on GH3 for PC. In the next few weeks i think itll be smoothed out and then we should have access to GH1, GH2, and all the customs on the GH3 engine (i hope).

hrmm the last tier on rockband expert was joketown, and if you can handle the solo buttons, it really makes it joketown for those frills in the outlaws song.

i think overcoming raining blood mosh1 took much more time than anything rough on rockband expert. not too mention Lou on expert (although luck is heavily involved). and i dont think rockband songs hold a candle to some of the gh3 bonus songs.

i gotta agree with drums though haha. i love both games regardless, but i feel like gh3 is there really to push the difficult bar and get technical, where rockband is much more for putting on a show for people.

ironically enough I beat Raining Blood and the Lou battle before I was able to beat Hangar 18. I am a rhythm guy, and the hammer on - pull off system in GH3 makes the game SOOOO much easier - solos no longer kick my ass.

hammer on is where there are notes you can just tap the buttons and not strum as long as you hit the first note in the chain, you can tell which ones you hammer on in 3 by the white glow on top of the note, you have to strum the note without the glow and then you can tap the buttons w/o strumming for any glowing ones following

In guitar terms, a hammer on is when you strum the string then 'hammer' your finger on a fret to produce a note without having to strum again. A pull-off is when you strum, then pull your finger off and having that strum it for the next note.

But in guitar hero and rockband you don't actually have to do it correctly. All you have to do is strum that first note then you can tap the rest in the series without having to strum again.
