They released the pricing a few days ago for Rock Band. 169 for the big bundle (game, guitar, drums, mic). And of course 159 for the PS2 version cause making a game for the 360 and PS3 automatically makes it worth 10 dollars more.

cmon slaven! if you can do a double backflip coffin or w/e that trick was in skate u def. can beat jordan, i bet if you sat down and tried jordan for like an hour tops you could beat it, u just have to master the awkward hammerons in the intro and get full starpower, then when the solo rolls around u gotta mash buttons and hold off on using starpower as long as you can until ur blinking red (first time i beat it i had a friend press select to set off starpower when i was blinking red so i could focus more on playing and since IMO that shit is rigged so u cant do it the normal way for that song)

if you get past that first big solo u win, u refill ur starpower which can last for the entire length of the chicken picking, then its the chorus then yeah GFG

My star power ends and either I fail at that point, or I make it to the next solo.

At some point I fail.

In practice mode I can to the chicken plucking without star power.
Its just too much solo, my fingers don't move fast enough.

what i do is for the parts where its quick hammerons between 2 notes next to each other i hold in the note farthest to the left, and tap the one to the right, when theres a sweep with 3 notes like green red yellow u hold in the green and tap the red yellow, i basically just mash near the end of the insane solo, but the majority of the time i make it, sometimes i somehow get a 3x multiplier going no idea how ROFL

bleh, from what ive seen skate is a tougher game, not ezmode like tonyhawk games ive played in the past, if u can do crazy shit in one game u can do crazy shit in another

btw what helped me get that push psat 60% my first time beating it was having a friend press select for me instead of setting off starpower myself, it allowed me to focus more on mashing and less on starpower, and that way you wait till the very last second until u use the starpower so u can get deeper into the solo before ur friend sets it off, unless ur friend has downs and is either slow or does it way too early

Jordan is easy to 5 star if you're not bad. Activate SP after the second phrase. Build up full SP for solo B/C. Get SP, use it at the start of solo F. 5 star. Don't make dumb mistakes.

The GH3 new guitar is a monumental dissapointment. The buttons are more spaced out, which is nice because that's what I hated most about the 360 controler and is what kept me on PS2. BUT, the "new improved" rock out feature goes off if you wiggle the controller too hard, tilting it up doesnt' always do it either, it seems to require a sharp motion OR nearly nothing at all. It's gone off by suprise on me more often than when I wanted it to fire. Oh yeah, and it's TOO FUCKING SMALL I've played bigger violins. The songs are awesome and the new interface is great, but I'll be buying Rockband if for nothing other than it's light years better guitar. Oh yeah, and better online play, drums, vocals, and true bass lines, designed by cooler people, hotter bitches like rockband players more etc.

Jordan is still the most difficult song in the GH series. The timing window for hammer ons / pull offs makes GH3 absurdly easy. The only song I've failed is raining blood. I failed it once, on my sightread. Everything else is easily passable first attempt. Through Fire and Flames is easy as piss if you can get through the intro. Guitar Hero 3 is everything I expected. It's fun, and it has a great soundtrack. It's easier than GH2, however.


(Lou boss battle is kinda hard. Have fun with that.) :)

funny thing with raining blood is that once u get paste the first mosh / verse u pretty much beat the song unless ur bad

ps is everyone elses save times slow as fuck? im runnin the ps2 version and if i keep auto save on it takes like 3 minutes just to save data after i finish a song, and then i turned it off, beat raining blood / cliffs / number of the beast and then turned off my system after forgetting to save, GG lol

Beat it on hard, and I agree the Lou battle is fucked up. You just have to play it through several times and get lucky with the powerups. Save up three and toss them at him right after the last ends.

ther is definately a slightly bigger window to hit notes. i think thats why its so much easier to do crazy hammer ons. some of the combos im pulling i know I never would have a chance of hitting in GH2.

on a side note, playing online against a friend of equal skill is sooooo much fun. i had a battle last night that came to the last song of a best of 5 with neth (netherzul), and we ended up being within 4k of each other when the song ended. so intense hahaha

The easiest way for me may not be the easiest for you, but what I do is anchor green with my left pointer finger (obviously), and fret all of the reds with my left middle finger. I use three fingers on my right hand to tap the rest.

edit: I'll record it with my digi cam tomorrow morning and put it on youtube for you to check out if you'd like. I'll do all 4 speeds so you can see how it's done. If interested PM me, and I'll send you the link as I don't want random people seeing me on youtube, heh :p

slaven just use ur index and ring and just move your whole hand for the (GY) and (BR) chords, and then switch to middle finger and pinky for the (YO) chords then switch back, works for me, i save up full starpower for that shit and pop it and ace that part, gives ya like a bagillion points hahahha

yeah ive been working on the dragonforce intro a bit.....not really concerned with it too much since its not involved in the career but the only way ive been able to make it work is picking the first note with my toe and tapping. (seriously, its pretty funny to watch) can 100% it on slow...about 70-75 on full speed. only 2 songs left for me to 5 star on expert....

Yeah, he is an amazing guitarist in real life.

Finger dexterity plays a huge part in GH, and real guitar seems to be the best way to get that.

PS: 100% Through the Fire and Flames intro is easy if you can get the rhythym right. Ill post a youtube video one of these days.

So I beat the game on Medium(I cant yet master the orange fret) and after the pain of the Lou battle, I decided to start working on 5 staring all the songs I only 3 or 4d stard my first go around. Then I decided to actaully play Dragonforce, that song on Medium is like GH2 on fucking Hard. I got 73% my first go around.
