So how's the opinion of you guys.PC releases of course..
How's CoD Singleplayer mode,is it anything innovative,is there shit to fool around with like in BF or is it just straight up KOS?
My Christmas Budget doesn't allow both of them, unfortunately.

Remember how much FarCry ruled? Crysis is by those same people.
The graphics are better than what anything before has ever achieved.
If your PC can run Crysis, give the demo a try. You can tell whether you will like the full game just by playing the demo.
But I highly recommend you use the "very high" graphical setting override trick (http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,1697,2209704,00.asp)if you're using Windows XP. The difference between "high" and "very high" is huge.
If you have Vista it will let you set it on "very high" without any slight of hand since Vista has DX10, but I bet the game runs slower on Vista....
There's supposed to be a Crysis patch coming out that will improve performance but it hasn't been released yet.

I haven't played crysis yet but the thing I can tell you about COD4 is both multiplayer and single player modes are exceptional and the multiplayer mode has months of replay value and a large player base.

Alright tried the demo's of both games.Well like one could imagine w/o knowing the games it's:
CoD4: Straight up KOS,huge online community, awesome multiplayer mode.
Crysis:Well Bioware, since they split up with their first team they put out some of the best FPS's ever.
Strange thing...i can run my demo w/o problems on the highest settings.Once i use it with the full version which i got from a "friend" i can only run it in medium settings,1280x1k.
Is there a trick ?
i got 2gb and nvidia 8600 GT.Should'nt be a problem,right?
edit: Both games own so much that's why i decided to torrent them both.lol

This article (http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2007/12/17/hardware-geeks-fail-bump-crysis) caught my eye in regards to Crysis. I haven't gotten around to playing most of the game, so I can't say if I agree with them about the "samey gameplay". The part I did play was pretty good.
The amount of damage you have to do to the enemy soldiers, before they die, is pretty inconsistent. That was somewhat annoying. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the suit "modes".
I dunno if I'm just lucky, but I was able to get Crysis to run at max settings on 1152x864 with no AA and no Vertical Sync with the following hardware:
Pentium Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz (1333 FSB), nVIDIA 8800GTS (320MB DDR3, 588 MHz GPU), 2GB DDR2 RAM (frequency 400 MHz, so 800 because x2 with DDR), Gigabyte P35-DSR3 motherboard 1333FSB), Windows XP SP2.
I put this system together myself, so it cost a LOT less than if you bought it already complete from Dell or Alienware or some other company.

QFMFT.....
it hurts the eyes...
Actually a big shame that Crysis doesnt sell. It was just released too early. Played it on a friend's machine, and it's an amazing game, really.
Anyway, something I've always wondered, how do they develop next-gen games if systems that can run it aren't released for at least another couple of years?

QUAD-SLI? Wow...
Well I suppose that's the logical answer for the Intel "Core 2 Quad". It's like they're saying "This time, we're gonna give your graphics the old QUAD DAMAGE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYQjATp0-a8) upgrade, just like your CPU!"
Also, I'm worried that good companies will stop making PC games because they know that too many people will fucking pirate them rather than buying them. Am I right in saying that pirating is less of a problem on consoles?
I don't want to buy a fucking Wii or whatever to play good games, I want to aim with my mouse goddammit.

PC games will always be made. It's cheaper and you have more control over your distribution/content.

Well, when they developed crysis they designed the engine it runs on to be future proof, so it'll still be current two years down the line. i think thats fine but at the same time a bit ridiculous

I think it might have been before that. Maybe the 6600 series.I don't think 6600's were ever 600$. I remember 6800's were though. Or atleast close to 600.
