I think it just seems that way because he's never actually playing the game in theses demos he's always just demoing everything.

At least I hope that's the case...

yeah me too, seems like it could be cool but based on that showing it looks pretty bland.

Well the game's greatest perk (at least to me) is that you don't have to focus on everything to make a pretty decent world. If you want to focus primarily on a specific species or a particular location you can and the game can fill in the blanks for you using other people's creations. Or you can play God and try to do everything.

It could be cool as one of those kill some time kind of games when you get tired of whatever you have, like Sim City was for me.
