So I just completed Assasin's Creed, and was wondering if there was coming a sequel, as it kinda just ends quite sudden.
So point of thread: Does anybody know anything about an Assasin's Creed 2? Feel free to share your thoughts about the ending, but warn about spoilers etc. yadda yadda

there is an AC coming out for the DS. I am pretty sure I heard there will be more AC games for home consoles as well.

Great news, heard something about the DS game aswell, looks like it's for handicapped children tbh, like every other DS game imo.

The DS itself is a little more limited than the new gen consoles, perhaps its handicapped b/c it has no choice?

Probably, but I've seen a few pretty games for the DS, only a few. Whereas I have seen a whole truck load of shite looking games wich had just a shite gameplay and storyline.
The only style for hand held consoles that I seem to prefer is the ones of either Pokemon or Final Fantasy. Too bad those 2 'genres' are dying.

I agree with the poster above, three are supposed to come out. No idea to when it will though

They did say that they would make Assassins Creed 2 aslong as Assassins Creed 1 (The one we have now) has sold enough and those people would be interested in buying the second version.
But with quite a few years of programming and hundreds of workstaff it remains to be seen if profits are worthy enough of the second game.
The game left on a slightly weird end, especially seeing all those weird patterns above your bed and stuff, but seeing as the main character can have Eagles Eye outside the animus. A futuristic 21st century Assassins Creed?

That would be bad imo, some cross between Hitman/GTA? No ty. The game needs to remove all the repetitive filler stuff for something more interesting to make me even want to buy the 2nd one (if there is one).

A futuristic AC would be sweet, but that would mean there'd no swords and such, that would have to be completely replaced and a new combat system, so I kinda doubt it.
Regarding the repetitive missions, imo the were fine (except the pickpocket ones) as I loved the combat system for some reason. I like AC the way it is now enough to buy AC 2, but a new side mission system would definently add alot to the game.

Sounds very alike actually. But personally I think AC was great and entertaining, even though it was almost the same all the way through.
But if I want to go riot in NY I think I'll wait for GTA IV to be honest.

Indeed it look's sweet, should make a thread so we could discuss how good it looks. But I assume it doesn't disappoint as long as it's not just a remake like the PSP versions. Wich it ain't.

No doubt if you talked to that women who controls the Animus you should know that all the Assassins compounds have been taken out, so it wouldnt surprise me to find out that you will escape from the building, find your parents (weird idea imo), meet up with more assassins and find those little sphere thingies which control freaking everything.
I cant see AC2 doing so well with guns and stuff though, a very large part of AC was that you could run away and hide and blend into the crowds. Although I can certainly see how you can blend into the crowds and so on you will be shot down. Not to mention that combat will be a bit weird and broken if set in todays world...
The new GTA looks great though (and not to cross things over a bit but AC2 will sort of be like the latest Splinter Cell).

Besides the extremely repetitive gameplay they would also need to add in new ways of killing people to get me interested in a second one. An example would be that mission from Oblivion where you untie that moose head and have it kill a guy. Something besides stabbing him with a sword.

I played through most of the game thinking that the only viable weapon in a fight was the sword, when infact you can use any of your weapons sans fist and to trigger some new counter cinematics, using the contraption from your hand made the fights against the Knights Templars really quick off the of the first counter.
The game would have been interesting if every mission wasn't like the one before it.

hope they will have more than 3 different missions to complete in 4 fucking cities.
I'm still in the second city.Never really played it again since i got to the second city.Toying around with counters and walljumping and shit, but not really "playing the game" in terms of making progress.
It's a fun jump and run though
