If I didn't know how the story played out, I would have gotten it. The story is only thing worth anything to me at this point. They need to stop riding FF7 at least in the games category.

While I, personally, along with many others, believe the overall 'holy shit, this game is fucking unbelievable factor' is very real with FF7, I have to agree that it's disaapointing for them to keep making little sequels or prequels to it that don't even involve the 'Cloud & Sephiroth' storyline.

This one directly addresses the events of Nibelhiem and Sephiroth's change from that event. A good game, just at this point I am more in it for the story than the game.

The PS3 has a lot of potential remakes that would be really nice...

I have it, and have tried to play it (I only got like 1/2 through when it was new) but the graphics just kill me. I am not a graphics-whore, but I just enjoy a game with good graphics more, and its tough to play something like that now.

A remake would be sick.

FF7 was amazing for some, some parts of FF7 was great, some parts not so great.

Quite honestly, I really think the Chrono series better in terms of a RPG for the 90s.

I agree with you, i've always thought the Chrono series were a great set of games. Also, Final Fantasy 7 can get kinda boring sometimes, but I wouldin't call it a shitty game. I think all of the Final Fantasy games are pretty good.

Agreed. Although I don't have half of these Final Fantasy games (only have 7-12 atm) I can tell that they will be classics.

not the standard last boss. international version (who knows why it was named that when it was only released in japan) has these crazy dark aeon bosses if you go back to all the temples

Your right on that. I don't think your spoiled, I probably just play way too many video games, though. If you guys wanna try an annoying as fuck game try playing final fantasy 4 (hard version of final fantasy 2). It's a bit irritating because every time you kill a boss you have to go through the extremely tedious process of grinding 3+ levels. This is what i'm playing atm.

There is no game that can compare to FF3/6 in terms of storyline and characters. The Esper system is decent, but the gameplay shines because each character has a unique ability. It's easily the best jrpg made.

Schmitty

The best comparison I can make is that each character is it's own class from FFT. All classes can use magic, though which they learn from Espers. The character Edgar, for instance uses different tools to do damage to opponents. Sabin uses different button combinations to use his Blitz abilities, etc. There are lots of characters too, about a dozen if I recall correctly.

Ahh... I guess if you can compare it to FFT, then it makes sense. I loved FFT... prob one of my favorite games. Sounds like a fun game.

Buffs? There are none in the one we are talking about I don't think. And yeah Schmitty, Orlandu is fucking OP. I hate the fact that before you get him though there are a couple of battles that are a BITCH. There was one I remember where you have to kill 8 fucking people at an execution site. The Riovannes Castle battles were also kinda hard for me. Of course though, the whole game is ezmode after you get Orlandu.

FF6 esper system was nice but I didn't like everyone able to get magic. It's too easy to just slap flare or ultima on everyone but the story largely makes up for that tiny flaw.
The ff4 I played was the easy US version back on these long winter nights 13years ago. I liked how each character was unique. Not everyone could do magic and I loved the progression of Cecil, as far as a story is told on a snes.
Pretty much one of my top3 reasons why I rolled a paly in the first place.

FF6>FF4>FFT>FFX>FF5>FF9>FF1>FF8 or something like that imo

FF7 Was an amazing game with a great storyline, it was just shitloads ahead of it's time, for once we can curse the Japanese for being 10 years ahead of the rest :( (Btw, wasn't the FFX US/EU version the one with the Dark Aeons? Not the JP version? If that's already been cleared up I'm fucking blind).

You'll learn to hate FF4 if you get the hard version. I'm too fucking lazy to level my characters and its kind of hard killing stuff. The progression of Cecil is kinda sexy, though im not sure if they changed it from snes to the ps1. I looked up some vids on youtube and theres a bunch of faggots posting some gamboy advanced vids or some shit on bosses and apparently in the gameboy version you get Yang for the final boss (Zeromus).

I hate ff4 just because I have the hard version of it and it can make it extremely irritating and frustrating. I have the guide for it and it tells you to grind AT LEAST 3 levels every time you kill 1 boss, which is fucking boring as hell in that game, even while listening to some good music.

The levels in that game were ridiculously long, with no ability to save midway through. The game was amazing, but playing it on snes was terrible :(
