The game involves too much luck for my taste with all the power-ups that affect everyone and the damned blue shell but its still a blast.

I agree. Trying to play through Grand Prix and shit, or in MP, and getting blasted by a blue shell and then 3 red shells and a pow block and then getting bumped by lightning into 12th place is really fucking frustrating. Its stupid how unlucky you can get in a very short time. I've pretty much resorted to only time trial play, because i've come very close to throwing my wiimote in frustration when i get triple shelled out of a three star on the last course of a grand prix.

I never had the same problems on SNES or N64, and I never played the GB or GC versions, so I wouldn't know for those.
Wii is the first time i've picked up a new one since N64, and its incredibly frustrating at times :P

I remember being all proud of myself because I had found some amazing shortcuts on a lot of the tracks and got some really fast completion times.
Then the internets was released and I looked up the record times... and was sad.

Remember that shit on rainbow road where you basically jump off the left side and skip half of the track? :P

Eh, 64 was more obvious with the computer cheating its way to victory.
The GC version is incredibly lucky when playing against other players, pretty much the most successful way was to stay second until the very end, because 9/10 times you'll get fucked over from 1st to 4th like literally a car lengths distance from the finish line..

final lap, you go from 1st to 12th then back to 1st or 2nd in a matter of seconds after the boxes that give you shit, some of makes me laugh so much at how ridiculous it is

Xil go back and play N64 now with some of your boys. Its just as fucking random. Ive been calling other random games "Mario Kart Syndrome" for years now. Just like if you go back and play Goldeneye its horrible, lol

yeah just like i remember how AWESOME goldeneye was. the elite gaming we've kept up over the years makes N64 look like a clownfest.

Its more of a 30 minutes-an hour of play reminiscing type deal. I used to have huge marathons with my dad and my brothers but that ended a long time ago, and its nice just to reminisc on that a bit :P
