I thought this was pretty funny so I wanna share

For those of you who still play TF2 or atleast know what the game is about and such, they released a new map + medic achievements to gain new weapons for the medic class! So as soon as it was released people found out about the cheat of typing "achievements_unlock_all" in the console and WA-LA all achievements unlocked + weapons! yay! Next day they patched it and reset everyones medic achievements.

No biggie, couple ppl made maps specific to unlocking achievements (maps name: achievementbox) I got like 24 achievements which gave me a new syringe and medigun weapon!

Went to work, came back, gonna work on unlocking the rest of the achievements but wait... THEY RESET MINE... specificly MY achievements... bull...shit...

anyways next morning i get an email and here it is...

Hi.
Yesterday, we reset your Medic achievements because we mistakenly believed you had hacked around the system to get them. Today we discovered a bug in our code that resulted in you being incorrectly flagged as cheating. As a result, I'm emailing you to apologize for our error, and to let you know that we've decided to award you the full set of Medic achievements.
Have fun with the Ubersaw,
Robin Walker.

Awesome huh?

Yeah its fun, its pretty balanced too even with the whole cart equation put in there. Thats one thing about TF2, the game is almost perfectly balanced and it forces teamplay.

Well im at 32 now, still need First Do No Harm, the soldier and the recon assist and the one to uber steam friends. For some reason the one where you uber steam friends seems to not always register properly. I'll be working on that tonight i guess.

TF2 without grenades made me sad, the art of grenade throwing is one to be appreciated.

Conc grenades were a good time.

I must admit i was quite disappointed when i heard grenades wouldnt make it in the release of TF2 but Valve did such a great job balancing everything without em, I cant say i miss em all that much.

But yah Primaeval i must admit i have fond memories of playing medic as an offensive class: speed, badass nail gun, nades and conc jumps just made it him that great. Too great maybe =(

Conc jumping from the your battlements to the other team's in 2fort was priceless. :D

The thing I HATE about TF2 is... Crits.

Crits belong in RPGs and shit, not in fucking FPS games, throwing in that random element lets some downs syndrome keyboard turning idiot kill you without even being able to really aim.

Aside from that the removal of grens was good because of how they built the classes, every class is overpowered in thier own way and makes for a really fast paced game.

If anyone wants to add me on steam my id is Offy1 I rarely play but feel free to add me :P

Haha I remember when me and friend use to dick around on pubs with a demo/heavy/engie + medic, the non-medic would run into a people holding the cluster nade or emp, and the medic would conc them out right after dropping the nade.

Uh what class kills you with a crit without aiming at you. If anything crits benefit good players much more than bad players since a higher %age of your shots should land.

You have played Heavy right? Next time you play him just hold down the fire button to a wall and look at the radius that the bullets go, theres really no aiming in it. Sure you might have to move your mouse a little bit but it doesn't change the fact that your still going to hit something. And most Heavies can "4 shot" people in about 2 seconds if crits land.

Crits make Heavy worth playing, since as you said you can't really aim as one. You just point in the general direction. But a Heavy needs support to be effective. Without a medic and some cover fire they can die really quick.

These are always the type of complaints I hear from people that don't like TF2 or hate some of the classes in TF2. You need to remember that this is a team game. It's not CS or Halo or any of the other FPSs out there now, you can't just go on a solo killing spree and expect to win the game. Without your team working together, you're going to get rolled no matter how good of a FPS player you are.

TF2 is a very accessible game, which is why it is so good.

How do people kill Heavys these days? I only played about 10 hours of TF2, without grenades it seems difficult.

A demoman can easily kill a heavy with stickies since the heavy is so slow, especially when firing. Spies can 1 shot a heavy if they get behind him and backstab him. Sentries + an engie can easily kill a heavy if hes dumb enough to fire at it. Also a pyro if hes good enough can run around the heavy and hold down the flame thrower while using his speed at his advantage to kill him. The other classes can't kill him as easily, like a scout.

TF2 sounds pretty cool and new.At least to someont who only messes with BF 1942 and CoD4 when it comes to FPS'.WW2 shooters disgust me to be honest.

I d/l'd the orange box,but can't find a proper steam-able crack. So it's worth to buy it for Portal and TF2?Because i know Halflife inside out.

Fireworks

Yes, Portal is by far the coolest and most innovative puzzle games you'l ever play. Its not only fun, but pretty hilarious too.

I suppose i'm speaking of soldiers mainly, splash damage from a crit hurts really bad but what i'm really just saying is that Crits in a fps game is retarded.

a) kill his medic.
b) peak shots :P

Like Fireworks said, yes the Orange Box is very much worth it, if you already have HL2 and all its expansions you can always transfer them to a friend or even possibly try to sell them cheap.

And Impulsive, as far as heavy killing goes 3 rockets usually does the trick for me, if you're far you shouldnt get much dmg since bullets spread out so much and if you're close just try throw him around a bit with your rockets to throw his aim off. The key is to keep moving around.

oh I see, it use to be just timed grenades, you didn't even have to pay attention to Heavys in TFC...

can you still pop people up HIGH with the soldier's rockets? like long enough to launch another one to keep them going? :P

Yeah you can, but its probably not as common as when you played it. I believe (thought don't quote me on it) that popping the enemy up high only comes from crits that are near the players feet. Its not so easy anymore, its a lot more trivial.

It's stupid to shoot another rocket at someone anyway when they're airborne unless you're in a tight space, or they're a pyro. Just pull out your shotgun and finish them off.

All the littles things I loved about TFC are gone :(

And Xi-, in TFC, if you can do it consistently, one more rocket = guaranteed death and more importantly fucks up their grenade.
