I know most of you have played it. I just randomly got an email today from Station and it reminded me of the good times that game had. The dropship troop-drops were always epic with 40 people parashooting down on top of a base. The hundreds of tracers coming from each end of a bridge that was the chock point for holding a base. It was such a great game before the BFR's were released, then everything went to shit. The game was no longer balanced and there was no way to kill a BFR unless you yourself was in another BFR. But now the game is resorting to server merges just to keep player activity to a watered down medium. I was probably ...13? When I played it, but it was still one of my favorite games. Share your memories here.

Also, if there is another game thats like this please point me in its direction O_O

I was the reason they nerfed surgiles. In fact, probably the reason they coined it.

Surge + Jackhammer. Could take an entire tower by myself in a Mosquito. This was before CR5 was implemented. Hated the game the more they did with it.

Hated the game the more they did with it. QFT. I don't see how a company can do so well at the beginning then end up so shitty. Usually the company will grow from its community and player base into a better game, but PS just got progressively worse. Station decided to just cross its arms on its fans.

Never played the game myself but the general gripe among my friends who did were that the mob mentality got old, the aiming system (headshots) were spastic, and poor implementation of vehicles.

Its funny, because their attitudes toward the game was similar to Nidhogg's comment, like :) to :| to :(

It really was an extremely fun game at release. Played with a group of friends and that was a blast.

Have a company come along and create a modern game with the same basic premise of the intial PS release and IMO you have a real winner. Companies get so focused on trying to change and evolve games that many times they screw the shit up.. oh well.

Yeah many of the newer "MMOFPSRPGs" take away the fact that FPSs were meant to be player vs player combat, not "Lets shoot at a stationary monster until its HP bar goes down". I loved the competativeness of it, and that it wasnt just 1 on 1 faction gameplay, it was 1 on 1 with another faction who could jump in and slaughter everyone gameplay. Like you said if only some game companies could keep the concept of PS with less failing at the end it would turn out almost, if not just, as popular as WoW.

I never played it, but I've always thought the idea of an MMOFPS would be amazing if implemented well.

Well that's the sad part.. it was actually implemented pretty damn well at release, all things considered. They just messed it up as they tried to add new elements to the gameplay.

PS at release = Awsome gizztastic MMOFPS, so long as you had two gig of ram (at the time that was a shit tonne) because their devs couldn't compress textures for shit.

PS at Core Combat = wtf shit

PS w/ BFS = ....this was a very bad idea. You know something is a bad idea when one can hold off three organized squads, indies were just fodder for those things.

I'm tempted to try and find my discs so I can play it, 'cause it's still kinda fun, just not fun enough to drop 15/month.
